The cornerstone of Changing Weighs is our "non-diet" or "intuitive eating" approach. This is based on the concept that we are born with a natural ability to regulate our dietary intake to meet our needs. Unfortunately, many of us have learned to ignore our own internal hunger signals and instead, follow external cues. We eat because it is mealtime or because something looks good - whether we are hungry or not. We "eat all our dinner if we want dessert" instead of stopping when we’ve had enough. We reward, comfort, and entertain ourselves by eating. To make it worse, we are forced to ignore physical hunger cues when we diet. No wonder we feel so out of touch with our bodies!

The goal of Changing Weighs is to combine expertise in the medical, nutritional, physical, and behavioral aspects of weight management. There is no single answer for everyone so the Changing Weighs Team works with you to identify your personal strengths and obstacles, then provides you with the support and tools necessary to help you achieve your goals.

We have developed a unique eight-week, step-by-step program. Through weekly lifestyle management groups with team members, interesting workshops, and innovative educational materials, you will learn to blend flavor and nutrition, enjoy an active lifestyle, and restore a healthy relationship with food!

We live in a culture obsessed with dieting! We are constantly bombarded with the latest weight loss scheme to "rid ourselves of those unsightly pounds". The newest fad diets scream at us from magazines and books, talk shows and news programs, commercials and testimonials, doctors’ offices and health food stores. Paradoxically, Americans are in the worst shape ever!

The "diet reality" is that between 90 and 99% of reducing diets fail to produce any permanent results. A disappointed two-thirds of dieters regain their weight within one year and virtually all regain it within five years! To make matters worse, people typically gain back the weight they lost plus about 10% more. Despite these miserable statistics, when the diet fails, you usually don’t blame the diet - you blame yourself! Yet again, you try the next diet that comes along, hoping that it will finally be the answer.

So why should Changing Weighs be any different? The key to gaining control over your weight problem does not lie in a magical (or even a logical) combination of diet and exercise.   • Changing Weighs Manual containing innovative educational materials and tools to help you achieve and maintain your natural weight.
